Easter at St Andrew's

The Great Fifty Days of Eastertide form a single festival period in which the tone of joy created at the Easter Vigil is sustained through the following seven weeks, and the Church celebrates the gloriously risen Christ:

Triumphant in his glory now,

his sceptre ruleth all,

earth, heaven and hell before him bow,

and at his footstool fall.

Monday 1 April Easter Pilgrimage to St Albans Cathedral

Easter Monday Pilgrimage.

Each year our Diocese invites us to join them for a celebration of the
resurrection at St Albans Cathedral on Easter Monday. As a pilgrimage, we will travel together by coach to Harpenden, and then walk together across country to St Albans. Once in the city there is time for lunch before we head into the cathedral for our Easter Monday service. This is a great event for the whole family, the route is suitable for a buggy, and you can take the walk at your own pace! See the notice board for more information.

Easter Lilies.

It is our custom at St Andrew’s Church to remember loved ones with a donation towards
the cost of the lilies in church on Easter Day, and the following weeks. If you should wish to donate, please put your offering in an envelope designated, “Easter Lilies”, including those whose names you wish to be remembered [please see below], and place on one of the collection plates, or kindly post through my letterbox, 40 Ivel Gardens, SG18 0AN. At the time of writing the cost of each lily is £2.50, plus VAT. The names of those in whose loving memory the Easter Lilies are donated will be posted on the prayer board in the Memorial Chapel area for Easter; and, also dearly departed names included on the Easter Day 2023 pew sheet notices.
